Confirmed panelists include: Amanda Reiman Manager of Marijuana Law and Policy at the Drug Policy Alliance (DPA) develops DPA's marijuana reform work as it relates to litigation, legislative and initiative drafting, campaign strategy, policy advocacy, media relations, fundraising, and public education in the local, state, federal, and international jurisdictions in which DPA is active.
Tsion Sunshine Lencho, Attorney and Consultant at Supernova Collective Advocate focuses on the medical cannabis industry where she provides medical cannabis businesses guidance on corporate formation and advice on navigating the ever-changing local and state regulatory requirements for their businesses. Lencho is also co-founder of Supernova, an organization for women of color in the cannabis industry that has been affecting change by providing free education and training programs to communities of color throughout the nation.
Timothy Birch, Oakland Police Department Research and Planning provides the Oakland Police Department with input including identification of best practices, policy development, and legislative support. His primary focus is on conducting research and providing short- and long-range planning.
Moderator Cynthia Gorney is a veteran journalist and professor at UC Berkeley's School of Journalism, where she joined the faculty in 1999, after a career at The Washington Post that included serving as an award-winning national features writer. She is the author of Articles of Faith: A History of the Abortion Wars, and is currently a contributing writer for The New York Times Magazine and National Geographic.
