Ali Bigliardi, a young woman who benefitted from grief services after her father died when she was just 16, will be the keynote speaker at Providence Hospice of Seattle's 17th annual Pediatric Luncheon on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016.
Bigliardi, now 22, received help from Providence Hospice of Seattle's Safe Crossings children's grief program and attended Camp Erin-King County(R) to help her deal with losing her father at such a young age. The West Seattle woman will talk about how Providence Hospice of Seattle helped both her and her family and the difference the services made in her life.
KING-5 TV news anchor Mark Wright will emcee the luncheon. Proceeds will benefit Providence Hospice of Seattle's children's hospice and palliative care program and children's grief support program.
"This event helps us care for grieving and terminally ill children throughout King County," said Gary Crum, director of the Providence Hospice of Seattle Foundation. "We depend on the generosity of our wonderful sponsors and donors to continue to offer grief services and palliative care to these children and their families."
Doors open for the event at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins promptly at noon at the Washington State Convention Center, 800 Convention Place, in Seattle. Participants will not be charged for lunch, but a $150 donation is requested. Funds raised will be used to help seriously ill and grieving children get the care they deserve, regardless of their financial circumstances.
