ArtSpan SF Open Studios Art Exhibit Figurative Art by Susan R. Kirshenbaum, aka Cherry Pits Art With Artist Lisa Lightman
For the first time after a long hiatus, Susan R. Kirshenbaum is reclaiming her life as a full-time visual artist. Susan never stopped making art throughout her successful career as a marketing creative director. She explains "It's never too late to do what you really care about - and it's important for me to create lively, provocative art".
Using digital tools and drawing live models she produces brisk, bold, gestural works of art. She is excited to introduce her monumental series of "Silk Scrolls", fluttering panels of life-size female figures. She's also showing prints, drawings, and soft sculpture.
"Art must be in my DNA." says Susan, "I grew up in my family's art school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and I understood from an early age how unusually fortunate I am for art to be so deeply ingrained in my nature."
Her brand name "Cherry Pits Art" comes from her last name, Kirshenbaum, which means Cherry Tree. Her art is at the core of her brand. Susan lives in the center of San Francisco, California and is married with two cats.
Her first Open Studio will take place on November 5 and 6 at The Laundry, in the San Francisco Mission District (26th Street between Mission and Capp). This new workspace and gallery is made specifically for artists, creators and innovators. For information about her work and upcoming art events visit her website at http://www.cherrypits.net/ or email her at srkirshenbaum@gmail.com.
