Info:
Frequency 49, the San Francisco-based woodwind sextet, is teaming up with some of the Bay Area's best chamber music groups to present an evening of music in support of civil liberties and individual rights on Inauguration Night. All proceeds benefit the American Civil Liberties Union. In addition to Frequency 49, the concert will feature performances by Wild Rumpus, Divisa Ensemble, and the Siroko Duo.
The Divisa Ensemble, a mixed winds and string quintet, will open the program with two selections: Josef Ceremuga's Kvintet: Allegro and Rudolf Hartmann's Variations on a Theme by Paganini. Contemporary chamber ensemble, Wild Rumpus, will perform a duet for percussion and cello by Ted Hearne titled Furtive movements. Siroko Duo, a flute duo dedicated to commissioning and performing new works, will perform three pieces: Marianas 1 by Nikolai Valov, Conversations by Julie Barwick, and Bulgarian Dances by Annika K. Socolofsky. Frequency 49, a wind and piano sextet, will perform two pieces to close out the program: Brokenvention by Alyssa Morris (with guest artist, Ryan Zwahlen, English horn) and Sextuor by Francis Poulenc.
