Pacific Coast Repertory Company kicks off 2017 with the high-energy high-seas musical theater romp "Anything Goes." The rousing song-and-dance-filled Cole Porter classic is a sparkling new production, and perfect mid-winter programming. Show runs January 28 through February 12.
Songs include: It's De-Lovely, Friendship, I Get A Kick Out Of You, All Through The Night, You're the Top, Anything Goes, and many more.
The story: The S. S. American is sailing between New York and England with a comically colorful assemblage of passengers: Reno Sweeney, a popular nightclub singer and former evangelist her pal Billy Crocker, a lovelorn Wall Street broker who has come aboard to try to win the favor of his beloved Hope Harcourt (who is engaged to another passenger, Sir Evelyn Oakleigh) and a second-rate conman named Moonface Martin, aka Public Enemy #13. Crazy antics ensue as Reno and Moonface try to help Billy win the love of his life.
January 29 Special Event: An "Inside the Show" discussion with the director and principal actors will take place after the Sunday matinee performance. Admission is free with a ticket to the performance.
'Anything Goes' is helmed by PCRT co-founder and critically acclaimed Director/Actor David Judson, who directs and serves as Artistic Director. Joining Judson in bringing his vision to the Firehouse stage are Music Director Brett Strader, and Choreographer Suzanne Brandt.
Staring Joy Sherratt* as "Reno Sweeney," Christopher Vettel* as "Sir Evelyn Oakleigh," Amy Franklin Leonards* as "Hope Harcourt," Michael Patrick Gaffney* as "Elisha Whitney," and Tim Wagner as "Billy Crocker," along with a talented cast and ensemble of professional and regional actors.
