Kelly Brandeburg, current star of San Francisco's beloved long-running hit revue Steve Silver's Beach Blanket Babylon, brings her award-winning one-woman show celebrating the songs and life of Barbra Streisand to the Firehouse Arts Center in Pleasanton on Sunday, February 26, at 2:00 p.m.
Kelly Brandeburg in My Favorite Barbra! is the show that won Best Solo Performance - 2015 BroadwayWorld San Francisco Awards, and the Firehouse is excited to present it in their popular Cabaret Series, produced by Bay Area's award-winning Esses Productions, notes Firehouse publicist Jane Onojafe. "This series continues to be a big hit with our audiences, especially the Sunday matinees, which always sell-out. We are thrilled to snag Kelly Brandeburg in her award-winning solo 'Barbra' show, especially since she's so busy now as a featured cast member in Beach Blanket Babylon!"
Kelly's tribute to the life and career of the legendary Barbra Streisand, with music direction by John Simon, is a journey from the early days of Streisand's career as a cabaret singer in New York City, through the starring roles on Broadway and her critically acclaimed roles in Hollywood films. In addition, the production is full of rare "Barbra" anecdotes and stories, alongside selections from Funny Girl, Yentl, Hello, Dolly! and more. Hit numbers include You Don't Bring Me Flowers, Evergreen, and The Way We Were to name off just a few on the set list.
In addition to her current roles in BBB, Kelly is known to Bay Area audiences from co-starring roles in the popular theatrical revues The World Of Webber and The Broadway Divas. Other starring roles locally as well as across the country have included parts in Oliver, Catch Me If You Can, Jekyll & Hyde, The Secret Garden, and The Wizard of Oz.
