Grown Women Dance Collective presents the 8th annual Fallen Heroes, Rising Stars: A Juneteenth Celebration Through Dance, featuring powerhouse performances honoring musical greats and civic leaders whose legacies impact and inspire.
The all-star cast includes former members of renown dance companies such as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, Cleo Parker Robinson, Complexions, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Dayton Contemporary, Martha Graham Company, and over forty Broadway shows. By defying perceptions of what it means to be a dancer, all dancers are "Grown" (over 45). Their electrifying performances will include tributes to Luther Vandross, Etta James, Nina Simone, Prince, Maya Angelou and more. This fun, uplifting, family-friendly celebration of dance, music and American history will leave you singing to yourself for weeks.
