Latino American culture includes many subcultures. Those subcultures identify with different cars. The Puerto Rican community specializes in Toyotas, while the Mexican community specializes in low riders. Feast your eyes on El Taino, a 1980 Toyota Corolla named after an Indian from Puerto Rico. Or its Puerto Rican chief, Cacique, a 1974 Toyota Corolla. These two cars are only a couple that has made a debut in Peralta Hacienda Historical Park's First Latino American Festival. This year we're bringing them back for Peralta's 2nd Annual Latino American Festival on Saturday, August 19th, 12 pm - 4 pm!
Surround yourself in the cultural chemistry of Fruitvale today, and its fascinating inclusivity of all cultures as you walk on Peralta Hacienda's Historic Core. With traditional Latin foods, music, decorations, and cars visitors of the park will be immersed in the Latin culture. There will be a DJ spinning on the turn tables and traditional salsa dancing during the event. Peralta will also have booths that range from arts & crafts to resources on educating Latinos on their human rights. Bring the Rancho to life with your dancing shoes, empty bellies, and an interest in the art of cars. Zoom to the park to learn more about the Latin cultures!
