Kathy Mata Ballet is pleased to announce its upcoming annual theater performance, Saturday, August 26, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, in the beautiful state-of-the-art theater at Mercy High School, San Francisco. The performance will feature Kathy Mata Ballet dancers performing pieces ranging from the classical to the contemporary.
Highlights include: "Simply Mozart," a charming classical ballet piece choreographed by company director Kathy Mata "Orpheus in the Underworld," a full-length romantic, mystical and adventurous story ballet set to the entire cast of company dancers Original solos, duets, and guest performances ranging from modern to musical theater, and more
Admission is free, although donations are welcomed. All proceeds support the company pay expenses, such as renting rehearsal space. We look forward to seeing you at the show!
Founded in 1988, Kathy Mata Ballet is one of few dance companies in the U.S. to provide talented adults from non-dance professions with opportunities to train and perform, rehearsing several times a week, on top of their regular work days. The company has an emphasis on community service and has regularly performed at senior centers and other community organizations across the Bay Area/San Francisco. Their performances (free of charge or by donation) benefit local charities.
