Fossen and Derosier are in town, and Classic Rock lives on! The latest incarnation of HEART hits the Firehouse Arts Center stage in Pleasanton with two big concerts. (note: no openers!)
In 2013, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honored the talents and contribution of the original six members of HEART: Ann and Nancy Wilson, Howard Leese, Roger Fisher, Steve Fossen and Mike Derosier. HEART By HEART is Fossen and Derosier, plus Randy Hansen, Lizzy Daymont, and Somar Macek in the rebirth of the iconic band.
Driven to recreate the songs of HEART, while bringing the essence and purity of the group back to the stage, Fossen notes: "We don't consider ourselves a 'tribute band' but rather the second generation of HEART. With Mike and me at the helm, we can bring out those musical nuances and ignite the energy... that made HEART one of the most beloved rock groups of our time."
HEART By HEART launched in 2015, primarily as a result of the years of collaborations between Fossen and powerhouse lead vocalist Somar Macek, the popular Pacific Northwest singer/writer.
Fossen's bass work on the albums "Dreamboat Annie," "Little Queen," "Magazine," "Dog & Butterfly," "Bebe le Strange," as well as several greatest hits and compilations, has been a staple of radio since their releases, selling tens of millions of copies.
Derosier joined Heart during the recording of their first album, "Dreamboat Annie," and is known for having one of the heaviest, most distinctive sounds and quickest feet behind the drums.
Randy Hansen: The guitarist (and actor) is known in Europe and America as the premier 'Hendrix' tribute artist.
Lizzy Daymont: "When I heard Somar and Lizzy harmonize for the first time I thought I was going to tear up," says Fossen. "Even though they're of course not sisters, they absolutely sing together as if they were."
With hits like Barracuda, Crazy On You, Magic Man, and Never on the set lists to name just a few, the shows are just not to be missed.
