BCO Holiday Farmers Market Tour by Bike December 9, 2017 Meet at 8:30 AM leave at 9:00 to noon Onion Creek 3106 White Oak Drive Houston, TX 77007
We have several Farmer Markets right here in the middle of the city, which bring in local organic produce every Saturday. Bring your backpack to carry what you purchase, and let's shop the markets on our bikes!
Now we're riding it Holiday Style! Wear Christmas colors, put your jingle bells on, or even decorate your helmet! Santa hats are great as long as they fit over your helmet. This is a very social ride (we chat a lot), and all levels of riders are welcome.
We will start the morning off with a leisurely coffee at Onion Creek and then cruise to the markets to shop for fresh produce, sauces, jams, and bread. This is a 12-15 mile ride that lasts about three hours so bring plenty of water and a backpack to carry your goodies! Plan on sticking around after the ride to enjoy lunch at Onion Creek Cafe. They are a locally owned eatery, good food, good brews and good friends!
No bike? No worries! You can pick up a bike from a B-Cycle kiosk around town. Check their map and info here: http://houston.bcycle.com Or, Bike Barn has a great rental shop at their Bayou Rental shop 105 Sabine St. Houston, Texas 77007 on Buffalo Bayou at Hidden Lake.
Meet at Onion Creek, 3106 White Oak Dr, Houston, TX 77007. Please DO NOT Park in the Onion Creek lot – there is parking on the surrounding streets but look out for ‘no parking’ signs. Meet at 8:30AM – leave at 9:00AM to Noon. Free for members and non-members alike. The event is open to older kids who have good bike handling skills. Please note - we will be riding on some busy Houston streets.
