Info:
Soprano Toni Marie Palmertree is another Adler Fellow of the San Francisco Opera on the fast track for an exciting career on the stage. Joined by pianist, Ronny Michael Greenberg, her program with San Francisco Performances, Dramatic Tales, spins a story of beauty and satire in equal measure through songs by Kurt Weill, William Bolcom, Jake Heggie and others.
Palmertree is an American soprano who receives great acclaim from audiences and critics for her captivating performances. This past fall she was called to step into the title role of Madama Butterfly for the November 18, 2016 performance at San Francisco Opera. Janos Gereben from San Francisco Classical Voice wrote: "The young soprano not only met the challenge, but she claimed her place among the finest vocal interpreters of the role heard here recently."
This season, Palmertree is delighted to present her role debut as Liu in Turandot with San Francisco Opera. Additional engagements at San Francisco Opera include covering Violetta in La traviata and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. In February 2017 she debuted the roles of Giorgetta in Il Tabarro and the title role in Suor Angelica in West Bay Opera's production of Il trittico.
Pianist Ronny Michael Greenberg, a third year San Francisco Opera Adler Fellow, has been heard in opera houses and concert halls around the world. His performance experience includes guest soloist appearances with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, concerts at Steinway Hall, the Schubert Hall at the Vienna Konzerthaus, and the Canadian Museum of Civilization for the Glenn Gould Exhibit. Mr. Greenberg offically will join San Francisco Opera's music staff this summer and will contribute on Verdi's Rigoletto and in the fall on Turandot and La Traviata.
