The annual event purpose is to honor good work already being done by exemplary individuals and organizations in the Bay Area, and to facilitate the networking and philanthropy within our community that allows for the expansion of the social betterment projects that form the core of 100 Black Men of the Bay Area's work.
The gala attracts close to 1,000 and will honor awardees at this year's gala reflect the 100 Black Men of the Bay Area's value of expanding educational and economic opportunity for the African American community. Arnold Grisham, CEO of TriValley Bank will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award San Francisco Community Foundation CEO Fred Blackwell has been nominated for the Community Award Education nonprofit Oakland Natives Give Back received the nomination for the Community Organization Award and the socially engaged San Francisco tech firm, Salesforce, is this year's Corporate Award Nominee.
The 100 Black Men of the Bay Area provides a suite of academic services for African American youth and their families or caregivers to prepare youth for academic success and manhood by accepting, nurturing, and celebrating them and their experiences. At the foundation of our programs is an an emphasis on reading, writing and oration. A good education and the ability to read is the foundation of a thriving community. The 100 Black Men of the Bay Area offers comprehensive programs that address the educational and emotional needs of the African American community.
The 100 Black Men of the Bay Area works to secure the necessary resources to educate the children in our communities. The 100 Black Men of the Bay Area partners with other schools and education related non-profit organizations and government agencies to promote education strategies, literacy campaigns, and provide parent education on the educational needs that are prevalent in the African American community.
