Conrad Susa's The Wise Women (A Christmas Mystery Fable) explores the Nativity story through the perspective of Three Wise Women. Left behind while the Wise Men journey with the guidance of the Star of Bethlehem, the Wise Women instead experience a shared vision of the Holy Mother and Child. Susa's one-act church opera premiered in 1994 the libretto is by Philip Littell. Students from the Department of Music, as well as faculty, staff, and community members, perform The Wise Women in the glorious setting of Memorial Church. The audience is warmly invited to join us in song for the choruses and anthems, as suggested by the composer.
