Mumiy Troll is often referred to as the "Russian Rolling Stones", a rock group founded in 1983 in Vladivostok by vocalist and songwriter Ilya Lagutenko.
The band which identify themselves as Evergreen Far Eastern romantics, was founded in Vladivostok (Russian biggest port on the Pacific coast) by Ilya Lagutenko. Since then, they have played gigs across the globe: from Siberia to the Baltics, Mongolia to Greenland, Shanghai open-airs to St Petersburg's Palace Square. Being a successful band, they are still fresh, hungry, and in search of new musical discoveries.
Starting with the release of their first self-funded album in 1997, Mumiy Troll rapidly became one of Russia's most popular and influential bands. Furthermore they are often called "Russian Rolling Stones" - and with every gig and tour they prove it.
Last year the band released their 13th studio album "Malibu Alibi". The English-language "Malibu Alibi" was recorded during the band's round-the-world trip on a 19-century sailing ship in locations as diverse as LA, Moscow, China, Singapore and South Africa.
During the European tour to support the album, they played sold-out gigs in Germany, UK, Ireland, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Baltic States followed by the North American tour. In 2016 at the 69th Cannes Film Festival Mumiy Troll presented their movie "Vladivostok Vacation" created during band's round-the-world trip.
Being the participants of famous festivals and music conferences in different countries (SXSW, Culture Col-lide, Zandari, Mucon, Sound City, Visual Japan Summit, etc) in 2013 they founded their own showcase festival "Vladivostok Rocks" (V-ROX) which is held in Vladivostok annually and has become a massive cultural phenomenon recognized by NY Times as "A small Pacific Wood-stock...
