Israeli novelist Ayelet Gundar-Goshen, author of Waking Lions, talks about her debut novel, One Night, Markovitch.
Ayelet Gundar-Goshen is the author of Waking Lions, a bestselling novel in Europe and Israel and released in 2017 in the United States to outstanding reviews. The book was included in The New York Times List of 100 Notable Books in 2017. Gundar-Goshen won the prestigious Sapir Prize for Debut Fiction in 2012 for One Night, Markovitch, winner of Adei Vizo Prize in both France and Italy and translated to 15 languages. Her film and TV screenplays have also won international recognition. She is teaching this semester at the University of California, San Francisco, as part of the national Schusterman Visiting Israeli Artist Program.
