On the third Thursday of each month, collaborate with artists and makers, explore unique themes and re-think materials through creative design projects.
This month draws inspiration from the work found in Raw Design. Come early to MCD for a free glass of wine during the 6PM Artist Happy Hour with ceramicist Ilana Crispi to learn about her Mission Dirt Project-an excavation of dirt along Valencia Street that culminates in the firing of the physical material in order to examine questions of home, history, geology and ownership.
Then, explore the galleries and discover more raw creativity through DIY cassette tape weavings led by artist Lisa Solomon, and learn how to make your own key bowls from faux terrazzo with polymer clay expert Taramae Scott.
