Residents are invited to meet their neighbors and some of Martinez's finest as part of National Night Out at the Alhambra Christmas Tree Farm on Tuesday, August 7.
Realtors and Neighborhood Watch organizers, Pete Sabine and Lori O'Brien, are partnering with local law enforcement, first responders and neighbors for National Night Out. This will be the 4th time the area of Alhambra Valley in Martinez is holding a National Night Out event.
The event will be at the Alhambra Christmas Tree Farm at 2647 Reliez Valley Road, Martinez, from 6 pm to 9 pm. The event is free, and all are welcome. This year, the Food Bank of Contra Costa - Solano will benefit from a fundraising food drive at the event. Attendees who bring a food donation will receive a free raffle ticket to the event prize raffle at 7:30 pm.
Several first responders will be at the event, including Martinez Police Department, Contra Costa Fire Protection District, American Medical Response, East Bay Parks Regional Police, the California Highway Patrol, and the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff. A BBQ food truck, face painting for the kids, ice cream sandwiches (sold by a local Boy Scout pack) and free bicycle safety information for parents.
There will be dancing to the live music by the Midnight Flyer Band, Steel Smokin' BBQ food truck, beer tasting, ice cream treats from local Boy Scouts, safety demonstrations from local law enforcement agencies, CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) disaster preparedness information, child ID program information, displays from local fire department and other emergency first-responders, face painting fun, an animal petting zoo and more.
Last year over 550 Martinez and nearby community residents attended this event. For more information or to RSVP go to www.NationalNightOut2018.eventbrite.com or call Pete Sabine (925) 297-5335.
