Nashville based singer-songwriter and rising star Andrew Kahrs celebrates the life and songs of contemporary music legend Glen Campbell. Kahrs and his band bring the show to the Firehouse Arts Center in Pleasanton for two performances: Saturday, September 22 at 8:00 p.m., and Sunday, September 23 at 2:00 p.m. Hits include: Gentle On My Mind, Galveston, Wichita Lineman, By The Time I Get To Phoenix, Rhinestone Cowboy and many more classic favorites.
RHINESTONE debuted at the historic El Campanil Theatre in September, 2017, and has received enthusiastic raves throughout its ongoing concert stops ever since. Andrew notes that he feels privileged to present the music and memories of Glen Campbell, and to carry on the legacy such an influential and iconic musician.
Born in Atlanta, Kahrs' distinctive voice has never strayed from the soulful bends and warm twang of the music that sparked his desire to pick up a Guitar and start writing music at age 15. A cross-country move to San Francisco in 2014 deepened the love and longing for his southern roots and now, at age 27, a seasoned blend of blues, country, and bluegrass can be heard in Andrew's recorded music and his impressive 200-plus live performances each year.
3-time Grammy Hall of Fame Honoree Glen Campbell has one of the most impressive and well-earned "brag" lists of any musician: 21 Top 40 hits, 6 Top 20 albums, 27 Top 10 singles, 9 No. 1 Country albums, 5 Grammy Awards (plus the 3 Hall of Fame Awards), 3 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, 15 CMA Award Nominations, and 2-time Winner.
In June 2011, Campbell announced that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease - then went on to embark on a farewell tour. In 2013, he was the subject of the documentary "Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me" which gave him another career highlight with an Oscar Nomination and another Grammy Award for his song from this film, "I'm Not Gonna Miss You."
Campbell's final album Adios was released June 2017.
