We Rise is for emerging artists from disadvantaged backgrounds or underrepresented communities within the art world, historically women and people of color. This one day seminar is designed to provide education, critical discussion and potential for community building for all attendees seeking to elevate their art practice to art as a profession.
Empowering yourself is the underlying theme of WE RISE: Being connected to your community through your art, being active in supporting other artists, making a plan for your art business then working your plan, making bold moves for the sake of your art. For the emerging artist, especially those outside the academic track, the reality is that connections and reputation are both hard earned. It takes courage and commitment to follow a creative life path but that path is defined by the individual. Do something bold for the sake of your art, join us.
