Info:
Longy School of Music of Bard College presents Faculty Ensemble-in-Residence Neave Trio in a free recital. Since forming in 2010, Neave Trio has earned enormous praise for its engaging, cutting-edge performances, described as "scrupulously played and emotionally reined in" (Gramophone) with "passion, vibrancy, and a riot of colours" (The Strad). This program entitled Beyond Words explores music's power to create visceral worlds for its listeners-with and without the use of words. The Neave Trio will travel through Albert Roussel's Trio in E-flat Major, Op. 2 Erich Wolfgang Korngold's Piano Trio, Op. 1, and Dmitri Shostakovich's rarely heard Seven Romances on Poems by Alexander Blok. Joined by soprano and Longy faculty member, Karyl Ryczek, this performance is a whirlwind journey that transcends time, space, and the expected.
