The Capriccio Trio will perform piano trios composed by the Russian masters Tchaikovsky and Arensky. The connection between Russian Jews and Argentinian tangos will be explained and the program will end with a medley of tangos by Astor Piazzolla.
Pianist Dmitriy Cogan has performed publicly since his debut at age nine in his native Moscow. A US resident since 1974, he received his Master of Music degree from the Julliard School of Music. Cogan has been a prize winner in many competitions and has given numerous recitals to critical acclaim in the US, Europe and Asia. In collaboration with violinist Alexander Markov, he can be heard on a recently-released CD on the Erato Label.
Violinist Alex Eisenberg belongs to the famous Russian Violin School. He began his studies in Odessa with his grandfather, Michael Greenberg, and continued at the Moscow Conservatory. He won the first prize and a gold medal in the Michelangelo Abbado Violin Competition in Italy. As a soloist and chamber musician, he has performed in Europe, South and North America with various orchestras.
Cellist Dahna Rudin received her artist diploma from the Vienna University for Music and Arts, where she worked with the solo cellist of the Vienna Philharmonic and coached chamber music. Her Bachelor of Arts degree is from Pomona College. She performs with the Wiener Sinfonietta, the Belvedere Trio and the Capriccio Trio and has presented numerous solo recitals and concerto performances in the Bay Area. An orchestral musician, Rudin offers private lessons and coaches chamber ensembles in Mountain View.
