The #FemmeFreakFolk concert series celebrates womxn performers and their strong, vulnerable and sometimes outlandish expression
Roxy Rawson: Falling squarely into the anti-folk category by way of a manipulated, punk-y violin, Roxy Rawson has been a cult presence on the Parisian and London music scenes.
"Roxy Rawson knows how to bewitch a crowd. The classically-trained musician has been bringing her unique blend of impish violin vocals to the London gig scene for a few years. Her music is beautifully peculiar a sweet mix of classical notes and frenzied, catch-me-if-you-can lyrics interspersed with bursts of laughter. comparisons to the likes of Joanna Newsom and Regina Spektor are beginning to emerge.." - Independent on Sunday

Charming Disaster: Brooklyn, NY based musical duo Charming Disaster was formed in 2012 by singer/songwriters Ellia Bisker and Jeff Morris. Inspired by the gothic humor of Edward Gorey and Tim Burton, the noir storytelling of Raymond Chandler, the murder ballads of the Americana tradition.
"Charming Disaster sound like the music that Pugsley and Wednesday Addams might have made after listening to the Decemberists, Squeeze and some Chopin." - Yes! Weekly

Baeilou: "Baeilou" names Mia Pixley's cello, as well as her roots, experimental, and classical music inspired solo project. An Austin, Texas native, Mia is a cellist, singer and songwriter living in Oakland, CA. With influences like Caetano Veloso, Andrew Bird, Regina Spektor, Leyla McCalla, Emily Hope Price (of Pearl and The Beard), and Sarah Vaughan, Baeilou's sound is a combination of her southern roots, pop, classical, and some kind of supernatural quirk.
