Headlands' Graduate Fellowships provide yearlong studio residencies to recent, promising MFA graduates in partnership with esteemed schools in the region. Bringing together representatives from each of these institutions, this exhibition provides a composite view of Bay Area graduate art programs.
"The complexities of written and unspoken histories run through the work of the seven Graduate Fellows. Who tells these histories? What can we unearth and shed light on to bring forth what is hidden? Developing ideas and processes in Headlands' unique context, each artist has created new bodies of work that push not only their practices, but also their communities, mythologies, and perspectives with honesty and bravery." -Jackie Im and Jerome Reyes, guest curators
