SFDanceworks' fourth annual home season features everything you've come to expect from the company, works from world-renowned choreographers alongside world premieres, performed by dancers of the highest caliber.
Highlights include the West Coast premiere of 'Cloudless' by Spanish-born choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo, and the Bay Area premiere of Olivier Wevers' timely 'Silent Scream,' which has been called a "sweeping anti-fascist ballet."
World premieres include Laura O'Malley's 'Room for Error', and Brett Conway's 'The Bedroom', an ensemble work featuring current Alonzo King LINES Ballet dancer Babatunji.
The company's third commission this season belongs to South African-born artist Andrea Schermoly. She has danced with the Boston Ballet and Nederlands Dans Theatre, and has made works on Royal New Zealand Ballet, Grand Rapids Ballet and Louisville Ballet, among others.
In addition to Babatunji and O'Malley, dancers this season include David Calhoun, Katerina Eng, Nicholas Korkos, Ana Lopez and Katie Lake, among others.
