Sustainable Ballard to Host 10th Edible Garden Tour Grow food with your neighbors!
On June 29th, take Sustainable Ballard's 10th self-guided walking / biking tour of a dozen-plus Ballard urban farms and food gardens. This year's tour features awkward space gardening, some fruit-heavy gardening, low-waste gardening for renters, container gardening on a garage roof, parking strip gardens, garden art, a late start garden and even a tomato trough! Explore so many creative ways to grow food in urban spaces discover easy to construct chicken coops and bee houses learn about many varieties of fruit trees, berries bushes and edible ground covers and delight in traditional garden beds. Gardeners will be on hand to share their experience - the good, the bad and the ugly. Proceeds support Sustainable Ballard's community projects. Tour opens at 10 am. Please kindly depart our hosts' yards by 3 pm.
