Happening on the first Saturday of every month, the Museum of Craft and Design's MakeArt Family Days are half-day-long events designed for visitors of all ages featuring tactile materials introductions for toddlers, guided activities for kids and in-gallery hands-on opportunities for the whole family.
At this month's MakeArt Family Day, MCD celebrates back to school by helping you personalize all of your supplies! Take a walk through "Dead Nuts: a search for the ultimate machined object" to gather a little inspiration, then explore the materials and concepts found in the exhibition. Design a machined parts backpack zipper pull, create a "pave diamond" encrusted pencil carrier, use electronic parts to make a custom notebook cover pattern and even play around with personalized metal stamping! Also, decorate your Swag Bag and play around with magnetic design. All activities are free with admission and children 12 and under are free.
