Info:
The American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME) celebrates its 15th anniversary with ACME: 15 Years, a series of concerts at Tenri Cultural Institute the location of the group's very first concerts. Described as "brilliant," and "electrifying," by The New York Times, ACME is a force for new music. On January 17, the ensemble presents The Music of Gavin Bryars, coinciding with the English composer's 77th birthday one day earlier, and featuring his The Sinking of the Titanic (inspired by the band that kept playing on the ship) and String Quartet No. 1. ACME Artistic Director Clarice Jensen describes the pieces as, "unique works of minimalism that are incredibly strange and beautiful."
