Info:
Experience the luminous sound of four cellists performing beloved works of J. S. Bach, Antonio Vivaldi and David Popper.
Robert Howard began studying cello at age 12. He has performed at many festivals as well as with American Bach Soloists, New Century Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonia Baroque and the San Francisco Symphony. He runs his own house concert series, which combine thematically linked chamber music programs with food and short lecture presentations. He has also coached in the Bay Area and in Spain.
Since her Carnegie Hall debut in 1994, Angela Lee has performed in recitals and at many festivals. A graduate of The Juilliard School and Yale School of Music, she tours with her two sisters as The Lee Trio, appearing at major venues worldwide. She plays a 1762 Nicolo Gagliano cello from Naples.
Cellist Emil Miland performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician and is a member of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra. He made his solo debut with the San Francisco Symphony at 16, and has collaborated with some of the world's finest singers in recital. He plays in the Joshua Trio with soprano Ann Moss and harpist Meredith Clark. Many composers have written and dedicated new works for him and he can be heard on many premiere recordings. He performs on a cello made in 1718.
Cellist Evan Kahn has commissioned and premiered over 50 works by composers from around the world. He holds principal positions in four orchestras: Symphony Silicon Valley, Opera San Jose and San Jose Chamber Orchestra and West Bay Opera. In February 2019, he was named Musical America's New Artist of the Month. Evan received a Master's in Chamber Music at San Francisco Conservatory of Music. He plays on a cello by Italian luthier Carlo Carletti, c. 1900.
Monthly Music at Noon concerts include a delicious hot buffet lunch before the concert.
