The Peralta Colleges Alumni Association hosts "Propelling Your Career for the New Decade," a three-part professional development series led by industry professionals, influencers and scholar practitioners - especially designed for Peralta alumni, students and interested community members. The series is designed to guide and give attendees insights to strengthen their skills and knowledge in efforts to enhance their career advancement in the workforce.
The three-part Saturday series will take place February 22nd, March 14th and April 4th from 11am - 2pm in the Peralta Community College District boardroom, 333 East 8th Street, Oakland, CA.
The workshop series topics includes "Spruce Up Your Digital Profile for Maximum Attention," "Mastering the Interview and Negotiation" and "Making the Most of Your Earnings."
(Feb 22nd) Spruce Up Your Digital Profile for Maximum Attention - In this session, you will leave with the insights, tools and increased knowledge to design a LinkedIn portfolio to capture the attention of recruiters, industry leaders and 1st degree connections.
(March 14th) Mastering the Interview and Negotiation - Interviewing and negotiation can be daunting and overwhelming. In this session, attendees will gain inside knowledge and strategies to master their next interview and negotiation process.
(April 4th) Making the Most of Your Earnings - Now that you have landed or still working toward your dream job, how do you plan to meet your financial goals and objectives for success? This workshop session will cover financial planning, budgeting, saving and investing for future goals - whether that is purchasing a house or creating a retirement fund.
Individual sessions are $15.00 and $40 for the three-workshop series package. Advance registration is recommended.
