On her new album, out on April 5, Maya recreates Terry Riley's In C as a series of ever-evolving cello loops. Enveloped by live drumming by Shane Shanahan and Matt Kilmer, Maya constructs a hypnotic, rapturous soundscape that re-envisions this classic 1964 Minimalist masterpiece, marking its 60th anniversary.
Her performance at National Sawdust incorporates spatial sound designed specifically for the venue's immersive Meyer Constellation system.
