The Uptima Launch Academy is an 8-month entrepreneurship certificate that supports creative and social entrepreneurs at the idea stage in starting your business and laying the foundation for your business to thrive.
WHAT YOU WILL GET
Through the Launch Academy, you will gain the education, tools, and resources to clarify your business idea and market, test and get feedback on your business concept, create a go-to-market plan, define your business model and social impact, and develop your growth strategy
Quarter 1 - Start Your Business: Clarify your business idea and potential customer, get feedback to develop your product / service, and create a go-to-market plan to build awareness of your business and make your first sales.
Quarter 2 - Lay the Foundation for Growth: Further define your product / service offering, business model, and social impact, and develop a basic strategy for growing your business.
COMMIT TO BUILDING YOUR BUSINESS
Average time commitment for our program is 8-10 hours / week dedicated to building your business. A typical week for our entrepreneurs consists of participation in one weekly workshop, business development activities, one-on-one mentorship sessions, peer groups, and required readings and research.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
Entrepreneur who is a current resident of Oakland / East Bay has an idea for a creative or social enterprise and is willing to commit to a process to understand the customer need for your business concept, test your solution, and use feedback to develop a basic growth strategy.
HOW MUCH IT COSTS
The cost consists of a monthly fee over your 8-month enrollment period. Monthly fees are determined on a sliding scale of $25-$400 / month based on household income. In addition, we charge a one-time $50 non-refundable deposit to enroll in our program.
