Temple Israel and CA Draft Tech announce the return of the Beer Mitzvah on Sunday, May 5, 2024, from 1:00 - 5:00 pm, at Temple Israel in Alameda.
This event was created to celebrate craft beer coming of age and will feature these local breweries, meaderies, and cider houses:

"We are beyond excited to bring back the Beer Mitzvah for the first time since 2019 as we know people have been waiting," said Temple Israel president, Kimberlee MacVicar. "People have been regularly asking when we would offer this beer fest again as plans were again in place in 2020 when the Covid lockdown hit," added Oscar Delgado, Jr., co-owner of CA Draft Tech, the event's cosponsor, "We're overdue."
The Admission price is $36 with unlimited pours to sample an impressive array of beer, meads, and ciders curated by Delgado, Jr. Tickets sold at www.templeisraelalameda.org/event/beer-mitzvah.html.
Attendees also famously get to vote for their favorite beer to be named "The Chosen One." Don't miss out!
The popular instrumental surfer band, The Vinyl 4, will perform again. Food, activities, and a bake sale are also in the mix. The event is free for children and people under 21 years of age.
Temple Israel is the oldest Jewish synagogue in Alameda, founded in 1920. It holds regular Shabbat services, Tot Shabbats, and many adult education programs, as well as running a religious school and B'nei Mitzvah program for children and adults.
