"Through the Years" is a retrospective solo show of artwork by Carla Golder in various media including watercolor, mezzotint, etching and colored pencil. Spanning the past four decades, some of the work reveals the impact of the African Diaspora on the artist and on Black women in general, who discover their path to liberation and empowerment through connection with nature.
The artwork will be on view at Ase Arts, a community art studio space in Oakland, from Friday, May 3 to Friday, July 26. The gallery is open Wednesdays, 3:30 - 9 PM and Fridays, 3 - 6 PM.
The opening reception will be at Ase Arts on Friday, May 3, 6-8 PM.
