Mercury Soul's signature fusion of DJs, classical music and immersive visuals comes to the Asian Art Museum! The evening will unfold with waves of DJ sets, opera arias, classical performance and music of traditional Chinese instruments that honor artistic traditions both ancient and new.
Sets by DJ Masonic (composer Mason Bates) and DJ Justin Reed (illmeasures Chicago) will be interspersed with works by Huang Ruo-composer of San Francisco Opera's upcoming The Monkey King-alongside music from Verdi, de Falla, prodigy Yangfan Xu and more. The Asian Art Museum's gorgeous architecture becomes a canvas for stunning immersive visual projections from Mark Johns in this one-night-only journey through centuries of artistic heritage.
