**DVAN presents: The Future of Vietnamese Diasporic Writing** - Oct. 18, 3 p.m. Main Library, Saroyan Space, 6th Floor
Marking 50 years of the Vietnamese postwar diaspora, this event features three members of the Diasporic Vietnamese Artists Network, Van Hoang (Silver and Smoke), Hieu Minh Nguyen (Ink Knows No Borders) and Christina Vo (My Vietnam, Your Vietnam) on the future of Vietnamese literature.

**Poetry as Resistance: Ahmad Shamlou's Enduring Voice** - Oct. 23, 6 p.m. Main Library, Latino/Hispanic Meeting Room, Lower Level
Author and award-winning translator Niloufar Talebi joins renowned poet and publisher Matthew Zapruder to discuss Elegies of the Earth: Selected Poems by Ahmad Shamlou, a groundbreaking bilingual edition that marks the Iranian poet's centennial.
Book sales will be offered by Borderlands Books at all events.
