Described as "a musician of charisma and thrilling physicality" (BBC Music Magazine), he brings his signature intensity and imagination back to Newport for an evening that promises both passion and artistry.
On the program is Beethoven's 12 Variations on "Ein Madchen oder Weibchen" in F Major, Op. 66, Leos Janacek's Pohadka (Fairy Tale) for Cello and Piano, Robert Schumann's Five Pieces in Folk Style, Op. 102, Bartok's Rhapsody No. 1 for Cello and Piano, and Shostakovich's Cello Sonata in D minor, Op. 40.
