Pork Filled Productions takes over Theater Off Jackson for 5 nights of AAPI artist excellence and joy! The vibrant, talented AAPI community of Seattle has gathered to showcase their artistic prowess across several different disciplines. Along with 5 nights of performances, there will be a walk-through art gallery featuring local visual artists like Stephanie Mai and Justin Leung.
Tuesday, June 16th kicks off festivities with a screening of a proshot of Nabra Nelson’s new play What To Expect, directed by Alanah Pascual. Wednesday, June 17th is PFP’s first Open Mic Evening, sign ups beginning online on June 10th. Thursday, June 18th is Comedy Night, hosted by the Joy Market Asian improv group, birthed by PFP and Jet City Improv. Friday, June 19th will be Musician Spotlight night, headlined by local superstar BeatBox Panda. The weekend wraps up on Saturday, June 20th with a Musical Theater Cabaret night.
“As a company, Pork Filled Productions has renewed our commitment to fostering community support and celebration,” says producer Alegra Batara, “What better way to do that than put on a festival that highlights artists from across disciplines and throw a great party while we’re at it?”
This festival will feature local AAPI superstars like comedians Cindy Su, Brandon Wong, and Zahnae Aquino. Musicians like BeatBox Panda, Jonna Nguyen, and Lauren Fernandez. Musical Theater stars like Jerik Fernandez, Rhys Daly, Adele Lim, and so many more! The cast of Nanay includes Mario Orallo-Molinaro, Anna Mulia, and Alanah Pascual, directed by Alyza DelPan-Monley.
