Step into something joyful, beautiful and filled with hope - Rainbow is coming to Whitney Modern in downtown Los Gatos for the entire month of June!
Rainbow is filled with the dopamine dripping, rainbow hued art of thirty-eight diverse emerging and mid-career artists from the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond, including many artists from across the country, Canada and the UK, working in vibrant color filled mediums including: ceramic, glass, mixed media assemblage, painting, photography, sculpture and textile. Enjoy transcendent visions, meditative mandalas, playful nostalgia, hopeful invocations, abstracted self-portraits and gorgeous color through stitched pixelations, quiet gradients and woven intersections.
Guest-curated by Los Gatos artist Marie Cameron, artists include Wendy Ackrell, Jenna Bonistalli, Claire Buckley, Gabe Brown, Marie Cameron, Nicholaus James Dalton, Alexandrya Eaton, Erin Fong, Wendy Fountain, Theresa Giammattei, Rinat Goren, Karen M Gutfreund, Seonna Hong, Ian James, Jaya King, Charlottte Kruk, Danielle Krysa, Kerith Lisi, Alicia McCarthy, Chandrika Marla, Stephanie Metz, Cuong Nguyen, Angel Oloshove, Elise Ordorica, Heather Robinson, Stephanie Robison, Tino Rodriguez, Leah Rosenberg, Michaela Sampas, Sabrina Sanchez, Harumo Sato, Jenn Shifflet, Bob Stang, Gina Tuzzi, Victoria Wagner, Alis Whitman and Christine Wilkinson.
Opening June 1st, there will be an evening reception Thursday, June 4th from 5-7 pm and an afternoon reception Saturday, June 20th from 2-5 pm with Erica Messer performing on harp, light refreshments will be served.
Whitney Modern is located on the second floor of 24 North Santa Cruz Avenue (stair access only) and gallery hours are from 11am to 5:30 pm Wednesday - Sunday / Monday and Tuesday by appointment.
