Jing Huang is one reason why VC investments in China are getting attention. As a VC investor, at Intel Capital, he led the investment in UTStarcom and, later at Softbank, and he was the sole VC investor in the last round of financing of Shanda, China's largest online game provider, which went public in 2004. Zero2IPO, named Shanda "The VC Deal of 2003" and Mr. Huang "One of Top Ten Foreign VCs". Mr. Huang also co-founded General Wireless Communication (now MTone IPO reg'n in progress).
