CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP FOR WRITERS OF COLOR
This workshop is designed to nurture emerging writers of color, but is open to any and all participants. In the safe space of this writing community, you will practice skills in the craft of narrative writing, develop authority in voice, and get closer to your artistic vision. Through writing exercises, readings and group discussion, you will practice the art of the narrative. We will talk about issues unique to minority writers such as "responsibility to your community," revealing secrets, essentialist representation, and exoticism. We will read short works from writers of color for examples of craft and narrative techniques.
10 Wednesdays, 6-8pm, April 13th - June 15th
instructor: Grace Talusan
