Many people are familiar with the image of the Revolutionary War patriot in his blue coat and tricorn hat with his musket at the ready. But is this an accurate image? Carl Borick, Assistant Director at the Charleston Museum, will present a lecture at the Museum on the clothing of the Revolutionary War soldier and dispel some of the myths surrounding the subject. Using slides of period artwork, Borick will focus on the everyday dress of patriot soldiers. He will discuss the specifics of both officers' and enlisted men's clothing and examine the ideal versus the reality of soldiers' uniforms
