The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) has opened its annual search for emerging minority designers to showcase their 2009 collections at the 4th Annual Front Row Fashion Show: Celebrating the Spirit of Innovation in Fashion.
The show will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009, at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. Front Row celebrates minority designers from the African American, Asian and Hispanic Communities, and is the kickoff event for TMCF's 22nd Anniversary Weekend celebration.
Sold out the last three years, the Front Row Fashion Show is one of the biggest nights in the Big Apple! Last year, the more than 2,000 attendees included fashion designers, models, CEOs, entertainers, philanthropists, NYC socialites, and many more!
This year, Front Row will highlight 10 emerging and established designers, while paying tribute to trailblazers in the fashion industry with the 2009 Thurgood Marshall Fashion Icon Award. The Award salutes individuals who have influenced style and fashion within the African American community, and who embody the spirit of leadership and commitment to their craft. It is one of the highest recognitions presented annually to honor the legacy of the late Justice Thurgood Marshall.
