  On Tuesday, September 7th, 2010, Cheryl Dorsey, President, Echoing Green and most recently appointed Vice-Chair of the President’s Commission on White House Fellowship, will make her first-ever visit to Pittsburgh to share her work and experiences as a social entrepreneur at the 3rd annual Solutions for Society event. An accomplished social entrepreneur with expertise in health care, labor issues, and public policy, Cheryl Dorsey was named President of Echoing Green in May 2002. She is the first Echoing Green Fellow to lead this global nonprofit, which provides early stage seed funds for social entrepreneurs with bold ideas to spark social change. Echoing Green has awarded more than $28 million in start-up capital to over 450 social entrepreneurs worldwide since 1987.

Solutions for Society is an annual event that aims to educate and inspire people about the power of individual innovation in creating social change. Solutions for Society hosts speakers with knowledge and experience in innovative, diverse approaches to addressing social issues. Issues have included finance, education, health, philanthropy, the environment, and more.
