Georgia Organization to Honor Black Leaders and Community Supporters African American Enterprise Day Celebration at the Capitol
The Georgia Summit of African American Business Organizations(GSAABO) celebrates African American Business Enterprise Day, honoring the achievements of Georgia's outstanding African American businesses.
The event will include a series of workshops that address state procurement opportunities, issues facing minority business owners, the future of the Black media and others. The Awards Luncheon Keynote Speaker will be Mary Parker, CEO of Alln1 Security and this year's NMSDC Class II Supplier of the Year. Awards will be given to Shirley Sherrod, former GA State Director of Rural Development/US Dept of Agriculture William Wright, NAACP of Albany Jennifer Anthony of the Columbus Minority Chamber of Commerce and Tad Hutcheson, Director of Marketing at AirTrain Airlines.
Hosted this year at the Sloppy Floyd Building across from the Georgia State Capitol, GSAABO delegates will also spend time in the chambers of the House and Senate where recognition will be given for the organization’s landmark legislative achievement. In 1996, several Georgia politicians sponsored legislation to acknowledge the accomplishments and contributions of Georgia’s African American businesses.
The event is open to the public and registration is $70. For more information, contact Jewel Daniels at 912.443.1996 or visit www.gsaabo.com.
