Choreographic compatriots Tanya Bello and Nol Simonse join forces to present Sotto Voce at Dance Mission Theater July 29, 30 @ 8 pm and July 31 @ 7 pm as part of the Down and Dirty Series.
Sotto Voce, or soft voices, encapsulates the sense of strength both Tanya and Nol reach for in their subtle and deftly crafted dances.
Nol Simonse will be joined by Christy Funsch in the world premiere of Etudes in Detention, a series of studies of effort, intention, and the value of friendship.
Tanya Bello's Project.b. will be showing three works developed in the Resident Artist Workshop at the Garage, SF. One piece is from her acclaimed first home season, Moveable Feast. She will also be presenting Souterrain, a dance describing the interconnectedness of our random actions, and Triquetra, a trio of femininity, family, and identity.
Witness these incredible undercurrents of the Bay Area as they explore new depths with physicality and care.
