NBAF presents DanceAfrica Atlanta! Curated by Chuck Davis, Founder and Artistic Director of the African American Dance Ensemble, DanceAfrica is a celebration of the movement, spirit and energy of cultures of Africa and the African Diaspora.
Join us and lose yourself in the excitement of traditional South African boot dancing from Lesole's Dance Project the spirituality of movement as performed by South African contemporary dancer/choreographer Vincent Mantsoe a tour of traditional dance and modern works inspired by the dances of Mali, the Ivory Coast, South Africa, Guinea, and others interpreted by Giwayen Mata and the sounds of the kora played by master musician and griot Diali Keba Cissokho.
DanceAfrica embodies tradition, but also a spirit of change and growth reaching back into the past and forward into the future, embracing the links between cultures across the African Diaspora, always bearing the message - “Peace, love, and respect for everybody!"
