This year's BBQ and Family Faire features the fun of a family picnic in the warmth of a country setting, while raising funds for the Shea Center's therapeutic programs and riders. More than 1,600 people are expected to attend.
The event brings together donors, sponsors, community and business leaders, and many families and friends for a Saturday evening of old fashioned fun. It features a generous BBQ dinner, live country music and dancing, a country carnival with games for the entire family, silent and live auctions, a sponsor saloon and a Shea Center rider demonstration. Go Country 105's popular country music personality Shawn Parr will return this year to emcee the evening.
Nick Nickoloff and his team from Nick's Laguna Beach and Nick's San Clemente will introduce the Horseshoe Bar and Sponsor Saloon.
Admission for adults is $50 seniors, students & disabled, $25 and family pack (available until September 16, 2011 for two adults and two children), $135.
Early sponsors include Rancho Mission Viejo Rodeo, Jenny & Bill Klein, Nick's Restaurants, Wells Fargo Bank, Harbor Distributing, Smith Micro Software and South County Lexus at Mission Viejo. Sponsorship opportunities range from $3,000 to $50,000. For more information go to www.sheacenter.org or call 949-240-8441, ext 109.
All net proceeds benefit the J.F. Shea Therapeutic Riding Center in its mission to improve the lives of people with disabilities through therapeutic horse-related programs. The Shea Center is one of the largest premier-level therapeutic equestrian centers in the country and is a privately funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
