Info:
As stipulated in the Transportation Investment Act, each of the state’s 12 regions established a Regional Roundtable consisting of the chairman of each county commission and one mayor from each county, appointed by all the mayors in that county. In the Atlanta region, the Mayor of Atlanta is also a member, for a total of 21 members.
The Transportation Investment Act of 2010 created the opportunity for residents to vote on a penny sales tax to support transportation improvements throughout the Atlanta region (Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale counties). All funds raised will stay in the 10-county region and can be used to support a wide range of projects that would combat congestion.
The meetings below will be the LAST time for the public to speak directly with members of the Atlanta Regional Roundtable before they are required to approve a Final Project List on October 13, 2011.
ALL registered voters in the Atlanta region will vote in 2012 to approve or reject the 1 cents regional sales tax that will be used to fund the final project list.
