Divisa Ensemble is recognized for its "great ensemble, dialogue between instruments, and emotive power". A quintet comprised of flute, oboe, violin, viola, and cello, the ensemble's instrumentation and "mix-and-match" style allow for a unique variety of repertoire, ranging from the most traditional to the eclectic and contemporary.
The name "Divisa Ensemble" is derived from the musical term divisi which indicates that players divide into two or more sections. Programs feature pieces with varied instrumental combinations, as well as works with all members performing as one complete ensemble.
Since their inaugural concert in 2009, Divisa Ensemble has performed many recitals throughout the South Bay and Peninsula, including appearances in the Fortnightly Music Club concert series and the Palo Alto Buddhist Temple Annual Bach Festival.
Ensemble Divisa performs a repertoire ranging from the most traditional to the eclectic and contemporary. Come and enjoy a delightful afternoon of chamber music at St. Bede's with works by Beethoven, Besozzi, Borodin, Cannabich, and Palo Alto's Nancy Bloomer Deussen.
